Hospitality…it’s what separates a true bed & breakfast from the rest of the pack!
With so many names for small lodging properties, no wonder guests are confused. The Sheridan House Inn doesn’t even have “bed and breakfast” in its name, but it is what we are. A real B&B should actually be called a B&B&H because hospitality is what separates a true B&B from the rest of the pack. How is a bed & breakfast different from AirBnB? Innkeepers pride themselves on knowing the area and can be amazing sources of information before, during, and after a gust stays, truly much more than concierge services offered at hotels. Because innkeepers know our guests, we can identify the right activities based on individual preferences. We have had TripAdvisor reviews that specifically say to follow our suggestions for a great vacation. The Grand Canyon is huge and overwhelming, but by listening to how guests like to sightsee, we guide them appropriately. Innkeepers also make it a point to know the restaurants in their area. We never want to recommend any that we haven’t personally tried, sometimes often. Trust your innkeeper’s local knowledge; it’s better than the internet or a stand of brochures.
Why stay at a bed and breakfast? Innkeepers want to make your stay the best experience possible. We aren’t just someone working behind the desk, but we are in the business of making memories by putting out the welcome mat and inviting you into our homes. Hospitality runs through our veins. We want to chat with you, but we also want to give you your privacy. We want to make something right if it isn’t. You’re not bothering us when you contact us; if it’s important to you, it’s important to us. That’s hospitality and that’s what staying in a Bed and Breakfast is all about.
